40.
That night in bed Sorcha struggled to fall asleep.  Her mind kept running through scenarios.  How could she admit to Kyle that she’s been a complete idiot and that she’d handled this whole situation badly?  She didn’t have the first clue how to fix the mess she’d made.
Maybe I should just go to him and tell him I love him and see what happens.
Yeah that was about the best idea she’d come up with, but she still wasn’t sure, and that’s why she was having trouble falling asleep.
In the end she’d curled up around her pillow pretending it was Kyle, and that everything had been settled between them.
When she started dreaming she was felt like she must be in heaven, she could feel the heat of Kyle’s skin, the cool silk of his hair draping around her, hell she could even smell the masculine heat of his skin.  She snuggled closer laying her face on his chest and wished the dream would never end, but something wasn’t quiet right.  The dream was too vivid she could even hear his heartbeat.  Sorcha opened her eyes and they widened as she realized she had her head on a man’s chest.  She tilted her head back and felt her gaze collide with Kyle’s.  He lay on his back holding her close and staring down at her.
“Kyle!  Damn you, go back to your own bed.”  She sat up giving him a look that could dissolve steel.  She was too pissed that he was in her bed uninvited to even remember that she wanted to fix things between them.
Kyle’s reaction was to lift one perfectly arched brow and purr in a sinful voice.  “I am in my bed Sorcha.”
“No you’re no…” Sorcha looked around the room and realized Kyle was right.  This was his room.
      “How did I get here?”
“Don’t ask me, I woke up and you were clinging to me like I was a life raft at sea.”
He wouldn’t admit it to Sorcha, but he’d been damn happy to wake up with her curled around him, maybe he should have woken her, but he’d decided to be selfish and just hold her while she slept.
      “I was not!”
He shrugged a perfect set of shoulders, which set her pulse racing.
      “What ever you say Sorcha.”
She suppressed a screech of frustration and got of the bed in a huff.  That was a mistake because it pulled the sheet off Kyle and the man didn’t believe in pajamas.  Sorcha had to swallow and force her eyes to his face, but that was easier said than done because she her gaze kept wandering across his body.  The ass only made it worse when he rolled onto his side propping his head on a palm and smiled at her. He didn’t even try to hide his erection.
God he was a thing of beauty.  Sorcha wished she could forget her indignation and crawl all over him.
She licked her dry lips and cleared her throat, then she tugged the hem of her overlarge tee shirt down and asked him.  “Did you bring me here?”
“No.”  The murmur that came from his throat was a seduction all on its own - deep and smoky, like warmed velvet rubbing on her skin.
Sorcha couldn’t suppress the shiver of need that raced up her spine.
“But I have to wonder, why did you teleport yourself into my bed.”
It was on the tip of her tongue to deny the words but then she realized he could be right.  “I must have done it in my sleep.”  She admitted in a quiet voice.
“Why Sorcha?”  Again the same seductive murmur, her name worshiped by his lips.
“I was dreaming that I’d been honest and admitted how I feel.”  Her words were barely a whisper, Sorcha was terrified that Kyle was going to push her away, but maybe it was time to see if her idea might work, maybe it was time to tell him how she felt.
Kyle was careful not to let Sorcha see the sudden tension thrumming through him, in truth though, he was wound tight, and was praying that she was going to say the words he needed to hear from her.  The words he was sure she would have said that afternoon if she hadn’t stopped herself.
“And how do you feel Sorcha?”  He held his breath as he waited for her answer.
She looked down at her feet as if she wasn’t going to answer him.  Kyle wanted to get up and shake an answer out of her, but he forced himself to be patient and wait.
She raised her eyes to Kyle’s before answering him.
      “I love you.”
Her words stole his breath forcing Kyle to drop his act of nonchalance.  He rose from the bed in a fluid movement to stand in front of her, he gripped her arms and asked. “What did you say?”
      “I said – I love you.”
Kyle tilted Sorcha’s head back and pulled her against him dropping his lips to hers.  He kissed her with a hunger that was scary. His large hand holding the back of her head still so she couldn’t get away from him.
Sorcha relaxed into his arms wrapping her self around him.  She didn’t know what she’d been expecting when she finally admitted how she felt, but this was not it.  Not that she was complaining she would happily die for a kiss from this man.
Kyle pulled his lips away from her and asked in a breathless whisper.  “Say it again.”
“I would, but I think I’ve said enough, maybe I’d like to hear things now.”
Sorcha you idiot - you are just asking to be rejected! She berated herself for the words as soon as they left her lips.
He bent his head and planted as quick kiss on her mouth, his own lips curving in a smile as he contemplated making her wait.
“Oh?  What kind of things were you hoping to hear?”
“I don’t know.”  Sorcha slid her hand between them to take his hardness into her palm.  “Why don’t you guess?”
Sweet gods you will never learn woman.
But there was no way she could leave it, she wanted to know if Kyle felt the same about her.
Kyle tensed in pleasure as he felt the heat of her small hand close around him.  Hell, he’d tell her the sky was magenta if she did things like that when asking, but this was one thing he’d never lie to her about.
“Maybe you’d like to hear that I love you?”
Sorcha felt her stomach clench and flip.  “Do you?”
“Sorcha.”  He whispered her name before kissing her lips softly.  “I love you.”
Three simple words, just three words made Sorcha the happiest woman alive.  She reached up to pull Kyle’s head down and kiss him until they were both mindless

“Why didn’t you tell me about the baby?”  Kyle dipped his head to kiss Sorcha’s bare shoulder as he asked the question that had been eating at him.
She tilted her head back to look up at the man she loved.  He leaned back against the headboard with his arms wrapped around her.
“I thought you’d think that I only wanted someone to take care of us - that you wouldn’t believe me when I told you I loved you.”  It sounded stupid to Sorcha now, but she’d been truly concerned over it before.
Kyle chuckled.  “Did you really think that?”
      Sorcha nodded.
“The idea didn’t even occur to me.”  He admitted.
Sorcha snorted.  “That will teach me to make assumptions.  All that drama for nothing.”
“Forget about it, you’re here with me now - naked.”  He’s smile was pure wickedness.  “And I can think of a way you can make up for keeping me waiting.”
      “Waiting for what?”
“Waiting for you to admit you love me.”
His smile had Sorcha’s stomach tightening as she felt need stir inside her again, but she ignored the feeling and asked Kyle instead.
“You made me wait too, why didn’t you tell me?”
Kyle dipped his head down and kissed the cup of her ear before murmuring.  “I did.”
His words had Sorcha sitting up and turning to face him.  “You did not.”
He leaned forward wrapping long arms around her waist as he dipped his head and kissed the scar on her shoulder.  The place he had marked her when they’d first made love.  The wound had healed but the scar would never fade.  That was the nature of a marking bite.
“I told you when I did this.”  He murmured against her skin, the vibrations of his voice making her shiver in pleasure.  “I made you mine Sorcha for everyone to see.  My mark told you I loved you.”  He kissed the scar again running his tongue along the raised edges of his fang marks.
“How was I supposed to know that?”  Sorcha’s voice had gone breathy with need as Kyle’s lips worked magic on her skin.
“I also told you when I told Seth that we are a nexus.  I wouldn’t have admitted that to anyone if I didn’t love you.”
Sorcha was fighting the urge to move closer, damn, he knew all the right things to say.
      “Again - I couldn’t have known that.”
“But you do now?”  He lifted his head to look into her eyes.
      “Yes.”
“You aren’t going to put stuff between us anymore Sorcha?”
“No... but are you sure we are a nexus?”  The nagging doubt would not let Sorcha rest.
Kyle sat up and took her right hand, he straightened her fingers gently so that her palm was facing him.  He placed his left palm against her palm.  Then pointed the index finger of his left hand, and Sorcha followed his example laying her pointed finger against his.
Kyle slowly began to pull his finger away from hers.  The flowing blue arc was immediately visible between them.
Sorcha gasped as she watched the energy flow between them.  “Wow, that’s kinda beautiful.”
“We are a nexus Sorcha.  Meant to be together forever.”
Kyle words had Sorcha shifting forward so she could kiss him and let him know just how much she loved him.
He groaned and dragged Sorcha onto his lap, melding their bodies together.  He was never going to let this woman go.  She belonged to him, and he belonged to her.

The late summer evening resonated with joy and laughter as the Mythos of the compound celebrated Seth and Drew’s wedding.  The ceremony had gone off without a hitch, under a canopy in the back grounds of the compound.  Now everyone was enjoying the party.
Even Dragon had come back from his assignment to join in the celebrations.  Thor and Rage lounged in chairs under a gazebo and Darius sat near the dragon girl Aurora.  He looked less than pleased to be there, but he was there.
Requiem were up on a stage providing entertainment while the bride and groom moved through the crowd both beaming with joy.
Sorcha stood under one of the canopies watching Drew and Seth.  They looked so happy.  She knew how they must feel because the week since Kyle and Sorcha had made peace had been the best in her life.  The biggest thing they argued about these days was what they were going to name their daughter.
“Hey Darlin’.”  Kyle breathed across her neck making Sorcha jump a little.
“Don’t sneak up on me Kyle.”  She turned to face him and smiled to show him she wasn’t angry.
“It’s not my fault you are so engrossed in Seth that you didn’t notice me walking up.”  He growled with a playful jealousy that made Sorcha laugh.
“I was watching Seth and Drew.”  She turned to look at them again, but pulled Kyle’s arms around her waist and leaned into his chest.
“They look happy don’t you think?”
“Yeah they do.”  He rested his chin on her head and after a moment of quiet asked her.  “So have you decided on a date for our wedding yet?”
Kyle nearly fell on his face when Sorcha jerked out of his arms and spun to face him.
“Damn Sorcha, give me some warning next time.”  He caught his balance by grabbing the support pole for the gazebo they stood under.
“Ditto you prick.  How the hell am I supposed to decide on a date for our wedding when you haven’t asked me to marry you?”
“Haven’t I?”  He had the cheek to grin at her.
“You know damn well you haven’t.”  Sorcha put her hands on her hips and glared at the charming rogue.
“Oh okay, in that case – will you marry me Sorcha?”
“How can you just blur … That’s not the way t…. oh for God’s sa…”  She spluttered then noticed that Kyle was laughing silently.  She narrowed her eyes and decided to put him in his place.
Sorcha gave him a smile that would make angels weep and said one word “Yes.”
That stopped Kyle’s laughter instantly.  “Seriously?”
      “Yes.”
Sorcha couldn’t say anymore because she found herself drawn against his broad chest and kissed with a sweetness that was… haunting.

Authors Note:

I know that some of you will feel that this books ends and leaves you with a lot of questions.
What happens with Aurora and Darius for instance?
Just what assignment has Dragon been on all this time?
And …
Does Gemma ever get to make Ross see she’s the woman for him?

I have been called evil for leaving these questions unanswered and for that I’m sorry…  Nah, I’m not.  It’s all part of the fun.

These questions and some you haven’t thought to ask yet will be answered in future Mythos books.

I will tell you this much.  Aurora and Darius have a lot of challenges in the next Mythos book.  For those of you who haven’t twigged yet.  Darius’s is the next story to be told in the Mythos series.

But now I have to turn my attention to the Immortal series.  So unless I have hordes of people nagging me, or I get published and someone wants more Mythos you will have to bear with me.

For now I want to thank you all for allowing me to share my stories with you.  I sincerely hope you have enjoyed the characters and reading about them as much as I have enjoyed writing about them.

See you in the pages of the paranormal,
